Residential Care

Residential care is a good care option for older people who are finding it difficult to live alone. Many individuals prefer to live in a purpose built residential care facility because it provides them with security, social opportunities that forms new friendships and ongoing support on a daily basis. Residents won’t have to worry about the struggles of maintaining a household, and instead can focus on the things that truly matter to them, just as they would in their own home.

Residential care provides the support and assistance that’s required for each individual for them to live the best quality of life. Our approach to care is more than just meeting care needs, it goes beyond that. We encourage residents to learn new things or simply carry out their hobbies to improve their mental stimulation and emotional well-being within a supportive space that promotes luxury living and a homely atmosphere.

Nursing Care

Nursing care is a type of care appropriate for older people who require medical and personal care on a 24-hour basis from a team of nurses. Those with physical limitations, critical illnesses or long-term health conditions are often highly dependent on others, therefore they are the best recipients of nursing care.

Our nursing team ensures to provide the best person centred care to all residents as we want every individual to live comfortably and happily at our residence. Our purpose built care home has all the modern nursing technology from nurse call systems to profiling beds and hoists which aids in providing exceptional care for those who need it most.

Dementia Care

Our dementia team is trained and experienced in working with people who have lived with dementia, in order to provide specialist care services through a person centred approach. Dementia is a neurological condition that tends to affect a person’s ability to remember past events, think critically or socialise with others. Our dementia care programmes are tailored as we understand that every person who has dementia will require a different level of care, depending on the type of dementia and its progression.

We are proud to offer a diverse range of activities for our residents, including those which are dementia-friendly, which includes reminiscence therapy, music sessions, gentle exercise, art classes and sensory stimulation. We provide residents with the correct level of dementia care and support they need for them to be happy in their environment. Our care home has been thoughtfully designed to reduce any stress and agitation that can be associated with colours and patterns.

Respite Care

Respite care is available to anyone who needs a break from their daily caregiving duties for loved ones. Carers can catch up on much-needed rest while we take care of everything for a duration of time. Respite care is suited to those who need daily support for a while following an operation, illness or injury before they are ready to return to their normal lives

Respite care can be used to trial a care home for a few weeks to see if it’s the right fit for someone. No matter a person’s reasons for needing care, those receiving temporary care will be given the high-quality care and support they deserve at all hours of the day and night.

Here For You & Your Loved Ones

Finding a care home that’s right for a loved one can be an overwhelming place for many. It’s important to carry out thorough research in order to find a care home that ticks all the boxes, starting with the right care service for the person in need of care. At Mearns View Care Home, our care experts offer their support to everyone involved, and invite you to our home where a suitable care method can be discussed. Following admission, our care teams will assess residents, taking into account their care needs, their likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses in order to create a personalised care plan.

Our care home in East Renfrewshire is regulated by the Care Inspectorate prior to the official opening. The Care Inspectorate is an independent body that inspects and assesses all nursing homes and residential care homes in Scotland to ensure they meet a high standard of care and will also support the improvement of a home following their inspection.
