Activities Aplenty
In a display of community and creativity, the residents of Mearns View Care Home have been embracing the changing seasons and showcasing their talents through a series of engaging activities throughout October.
One of the recent highlights at the care home was the residents' hands-on initiative to support the local wildlife. With a passion for environmental stewardship and a love for the surrounding gardens, they took the opportunity to create popcorn bird feeders. By crafting these treats, the residents hope to provide nourishment to the feathered friends who frequent their beautiful gardens.
Our wonderful care assistants Javier and Carrie recently shared their musical talents with the residents. The duo, armed with a violin and a flute, treated everyone to an afternoon of melodies. The therapeutic power of music shone through, as residents tapped their toes and swayed to the tunes, cherishing the shared experience.
The artistic endeavors didn't stop there. In anticipation of the upcoming Halloween festivities, the residents took part in some arts and crafts activities. These creative sessions are part of the preparations for turning Mearns View into "Scare View" on the evening of October 31st. With decorations, costumes, and pumpkins in the making, the care home will soon be transformed into a spooky wonderland for its first-ever Halloween party.
As Mearns View Care Home in East Renfrewshire continues to foster a sense of community, our residents and staff look forward to the Halloween extravaganza, which promises to be a thrilling event full of spookiness, fun and laughter.
When it comes to providing exceptional care for the elderly, it's not only about meeting their health needs but also nurturing their emotional and mental well-being. One crucial aspect of achieving this holistic approach to care is the provision of activities and events tailored to our residents' interests and abilities to enhance quality of life, social connection, mental stimulation and, and physical health.
