Join Us for Coffee Connections!
Here at Mearns View Care Home, we’re delighted to announce the launch of our new monthly social event, Coffee Connections. Held on the first Saturday of every month, this gathering is designed to bring residents, family members, friends, and members of the local community together over a warm cup of coffee and a blether.
Our very first Coffee Connections was a great success, with residents and their families sharing stories, and having a laugh together. The atmosphere was lively, with a wonderful mix of familiar faces and new visitors—including a few from the local area who were curious to learn more about our home and meet our dedicated team. Events like these are so important to our residents, as staying socially connected has a positive impact on well-being and quality of life.
Research has shown that maintaining connections to family, friends, and the wider community can reduce feelings of loneliness and improve both mental and physical health as people get older. For our residents, having regular opportunities to meet new people can provide a renewed sense of purpose and joy, bringing back the social rituals that many have enjoyed throughout their lives. Coffee Connections was created with this in mind—to offer residents a chance to socialise and stay engaged with loved ones and the wider community.
We’re also pleased to welcome anyone considering care for themselves or a loved one to join us at future Coffee Connections events. It’s a relaxed, friendly way to get to know Mearns View, our residents, and our warm and welcoming staff team.
If you’d like to enjoy the friendly spirit of Mearns View for yourself, we’d love you to join us for our next Coffee Connections. Pop in on the first Saturday of the month between 1-3pm for coffee and cake and take the opportunity to see around our wonderful care home and meet our fabulous staff. Bring a friend, enjoy a cuppa, and say hi!
