Our First Event Was a Success

We had our first event at Mearns View – a cheese and wine night. Members of the local community attended, and the team was excited to meet prospective residents, their relatives and those who work in Newton Mearns.

This gave us the chance to show them around our brand-new care home and tell them all about what will be offering in terms of care services, facilities and more.

We thought it was important to host an event such as a cheese and wine evening as it helps to bring people together over food and drink and build a sense of community and belonging among prospective residents and staff. It also helps break the ice and facilitate conversation among people who are meeting for the first time.

This casual event provides the opportunity for our staff to introduce themselves to potential residents and their families, where a personal connection can be established and trust can be built among various members of the local community.

The cheese and wine evening provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the care home and its wonderful amenities to potential staff, residents and their families. We hope it helped prospective residents and their loved ones get a feel for the atmosphere of the care home to see if it's a good fit for their needs, as well as help them feel less anxious about their potential new living situation.

It was a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. We hope it created positive memories and associations with our care home in Newton Mearns.
