Race Day at Mearns View

We had a race day event at Mearns View where we welcomed our friends, family and some of the residents from our sister care homes to our home for a wee flutter on the horses. Everyone dressed up in their best attire to make it feel like a true day out at the races.

There was a buzz in the air with the sheer amount of people who were visiting Mearns View for the day, with plenty of opportunities to meet new people and get to know one another.

We had an entertainer who performed songs in the garden where residents danced with staff members. There was a delicious buffet spread in the garden café with a selection of finger food, afternoon tea and prosecco with flutes for residents and family members to enjoy.

Bets were placed in the cinema room where residents could place their bets and pick their horses. Staff were ready and waiting to present the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes to residents who won their luck betting on the fastest horse.

It was a very successful event at Mearns View Care Home and we look forward to doing more events like this in the future.
