The Grand Opening of Mearns View Care Home

Monday the 18th of December 2023 was a special day for Mearns View Care Home as we were officially opened by Dr Donald Macaskill, Chief Executive of Scottish Care. Mearns View is a purpose-built luxury care home in Newton Mearns that prides itself on offering the very best in person-centred care and a first-class lifestyle with state-of-the-art facilities.

The event was attended by residents, relatives, staff, healthcare professionals and members of the local community and was a great opportunity to celebrate that our beautiful new care home in Newton Mearns is serving the local community. Attendees of the event were treated to live entertainment, canapes and glasses of fizz as well as the opportunity to look around the home and get a firsthand glimpse of the many luxurious facilities we have to offer.

Offering the very best in person-centred residential, dementia and nursing care for up to 67 residents the home has been designed with the residents in mind offering beautiful community living, whilst having the reassurance that support is available around the clock by the dedicated team.

Terry Blackwood, Home Manager commented "It has been so exciting seeing the development of the home and the care the team offers is second to none combined with an unrivalled lifestyle where the residents can keep doing all the things they love as well as trying new things with our all-inclusive events and well-being programme". Terry further commented "There has been so much interest in the home from both residents and staff alike and the buzz around the home is infectious. The local community has been so welcoming and it’s been great to forge new partnerships ensuring that our residents remain integrated within their local community".

A plaque to commemorate the opening of the home was unveiled by Dr Donald Macaskill, Chief Executive of Scottish Care.
